Dr. Vasudev Chaturvedi explained about the cancer awareness program.
The project aims at- early detection of cancer to save life.
Social worker and volunteers actively played a professional role in the multi- disciplinary team at a medical setting like cancer awareness and screening camp which was attended by DRDA Project Director MS KALINDINI, DRDA program manager ARUN KUMAR, General Secretary Dr. Chaturvedi. Two
Government gynecologists and three nurses have attended to camp. Conducted at Nalgonda district. Around 350 number of self- help groups and VOs attended for Awareness session. 136 number women were screened. Dr. Shakuntala and DRDA MS KALINDINI madam explained about cervical cancer and breast cancer. They have explained how to prevent the cervical cancer in women, how to maintain menstrual hygiene and how to identify breast
cancer.
Medical camp was conducted on 08-03-2022 which was International Womens Day. The social work, and voluntary where role was mainly assisting the respective medical practitioner by giving
translation of communication between patients and doctor, supporting patients in attending respective specialties provide monitoring and follow ups.
Organizing the camp and coordinating DRDA was the excellent work done by the members.
